The American Revolution was from 1775 to 1783. the Americans demanded and succeed in getting freedom from the British Government.  This is map of the Boston  during American Revolution.

The Boston Tea Party occurred in the city of Boston. On the night of December 16, 1773, Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty boarded three ships in the Boston harbor and threw 342 chests of tea overboard. This resulted in the passage of the punitive Coercive Acts in 1774 and pushed the two sides closer to war. This is map of the Boston during Boston Tea Party: http://www.bostonteapartyship.com/lexington-and-concord
In 1776 Boston with a population of 15,000 was the second to largest city in what is now the United States.

Geographic Information system allows you to analyze and present all types of spatial or geogaphic data.
I tried to find the geographic information system that could be zoomed to look at the Boston during American Revolution or Boston Tea Party but I could not find one. I could find the Goegraphic Information System for Boston in Present.

In 1776, Boston was not much different than in present. Men wore coloreful clothes, shipping business was active, the food was similar, and animals were common. There were many man made structures, ships and the forts were made by men. Also, the natural barriers helped Americans: Charles river and mountains helped to protect people and soldiers in war. Boston was an important location in war because it is surrounded bt the sea.

Class 10: Facebook Events As An "Opt-In" Form of Collaboration

These are screenshots of me joining facebook events and sharing.
I joined the Facebook group located at https://www.facebook.com/events/1432080547091871/. I opt-in  by  simply clicking the "Join" button! I then shared this event by clicking the "invite" dropdown box and selecting the Facebook group I'd like to share it in.

Class 10: Instagram As A Collaboration Tool

  1. Instagram
  • Instagram is a social media where people post and share photos. Many functions provided in Facebook is not available in Instagram, but it has its own unique characteristic. Instagram is a way to post picture in a very high resolution. Instagram allows the users to also share videos. The maximum duration for Instagram videos is 15 seconds.
  • Instagram is growing globally with 100 million users world-wide.
  • It received best mobile app at the 2010 TechCrunch.

  • confines photo into a square shape.
  • created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger
  • launched in October 2010
  • By December 2010, Insta
  • gram had 1 million registered users
  • photographic filters available
  • people can choose to link Instagram to their Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Foursquare, and Flickr accounts.
  • Instagram does a great job curating suggested users and trending photos.

Class 10: Snapchat As A Collaboration Tool

  • Snapchat is specifically a photo messaging application that shares photos, records videos, writes a short message and can include drawings.
  • Snapchat also has a function to send small amount of money by teaming up with Sqaure Cash.
  • “My Story” and “Our Story” have been added.
  • developed by Stanford University students - Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown.
  • Snapchat was the talk of the town recently after rejecting $3 billion buyout from Facebook.
  • photo messaging application
  • pictures are shown for limited amount of time (senders decide on time
  • hinders from screenshotting images
  • By sending pictures with a small text, we can send more effective messages.
  • Also in a recent snapchat update, the ability to video chat live with another person was added to the software. Previously snapchat only supported sending photographs and videos up to 10 seconds long, but now with the video chat feature snapchat can become a quick conference collaboration tool. A video chat on snapchat can be opened in only a few seconds, and closed immediately, removing any signing into skype or other video chat software, and can even be quicker than facetime on iPhones because connection can happen much faster, and the other person does not have to have an iPhone.

class 9 Dartmouth BOAT

The picture of Dartmouth was not easily found. All the images from Boston Tea Party boats were Eleanor or Beaver. I finally found a image of Dartmouth boat in website.

So we changed the color of the boat from brown to striped colors.

This is our boat 'Dartmouth'.

Class 9, Immersion 2015 Outreach HW

I shared this video on three different facebook groups and also posted on Google+ to share with everyone!. I embedded the video too. Enjoy.

Class 9: Collaborative Web Pages With TogetherJS for Review

For this assignment, I worked collaboratively with my friend because my classmates in group already finished this assignment.  Using sample apps, I could collaboratively play mad libs, drawings and watch youtube with my friend. It was a unique experience. The group project will be much easier using this kind of app.
