On The Road to Mastering Twitter

1. Favorites

When you are at "Home" in Twitter, You can see your post and posts from others you are following. In this screenshot, I clicked the star shaped icon on the bottom of the picture. By clicking it, You are favoriting this post. Favoriting a tweet can let the original poser know that you liked their tweet, or you can save the tweet for later.

2. Retweet

You can click on retweet icon to retweet the post. A retweet is a re-posting of someone else's tweet. Twitter's retweet feature helps you and others quickly share that tweet with all of your followers. By retweeting, you can share more things with more people. In this screenshot, I retweeted a picture above, it is indicated that this picture was retweeted for 135 times already.

3.  Suggestions to follow

In this screenshot, it shows the list of accounts twitter recommends to follow. The suggestions on Twitter are based on many factors, including your email, phone contacts, or the patterns from your following history. This helps to easily find others whom you might be interested in following.

4. Trends

In this screenshot, it shows the trends, topics that are popular now. Trends are listed in many places, including home notification, discover and profile pages ( in the column on the left side of the page).
Twitter helps you not to miss the hottest emerging topic that could interest you.

5. Hashtag

It is a screenshot of writing a post. You can use the hashtag symbol # before a relevant keyword or phrase ( no spaces) in your tweet to categorize those tweets. And people can easily find your tweets. It helps to organize and also to stay connected with lots of people.

Macbook Pro Hardware system review

I chose Macbook Pro for my review because I have used Macbook Air for 4 years and my sister used Macbook Pro for 3 years. I will talk about
a) how much the product costs, b) what it does, and c) talk about two competitive products, d) describe any personal experience you may have with this or similar systems.

a) Price : There are two display type: 13-inch AND 15-inch with Retina Display.
The price of 13 inch ranges from $1299-$1799. It depends on the processor and the size of storage in laptop. The price of 15 inch ranges from $1999-$2499. It also depends on the processor and the size of storage. 15 inch has twice bigger memory than 13 inch and weighs 1 pound more.

b) what it does: It's a computer that you can carry on everywhere. People can watch movie, chat with friends via sns, email, write a document through microsoft, make a powerpoint, take a picture, edit pictures and videos, design images and layouts, play games, build games, enter virtual world, listen to music, and meet others in virtual world. There are lots of stuff Macbook Pro can do.

c) Honestly, there are so many laptops out there. With present technology, they all have great features as Macbook pros do. one that is competitive to macbook pro retina the most is Samsung ATIV Book 9.Its price ranges from $1199 to$1799. It depends on its display sizes and specifications. Another competitive product is Toshiba Kira Book 13. It's price ranges from $1349 to $1699. It also depends on the size and different specification.

d) I have used laptops from Samsung, Apple and HP. They all have their specialization so it is hard to tell the best product. My personal thought is that I love Macbook the best. It is slim, light, and easy to carry on. IOS is easier to use than Windows. And Macbook has the best program for editing pictures.

Denver TV News: Minecraft for history

In this screenshot, it is showing the site where it will be minecrafted in virtual world. In these days, people play Minecraft game to build stuff in virtual world.  This is not just about a game. It is to build a virtual place so that everyone can visit online.  In this link, it talked about project called " Immersive Education Initiative".

In this screenshot, it is showing the restaurant modeled after Bent's Old Fort.
They are working on to create virtual model of Bent's old fort. The fort shown in this video was historical and beautiful.

Recreating Bent's Old Fort

In this screenshot, it is showing Bent's Old fort.
Students in Colorado have done something amazing with virtual world. They virtually recreated Bent's Old Fort. People all over the world can visit Bent's Old Fort anytime anywhere.  This is such a great work as people can learn and appreciate about history through computer.

In this screenshot, students are working on 3D building.
Right now, they are in earlier stage of familiarizing themselves with online building. I wish they could successfully build 3D online version of Bent's old fort.

Assignment 2-1: What is immersive education?

virtual field trip to Aquarium
For students who could not afford the trip to any of the zoo, they had the virtual experience.
They can become fish and explore the ecosystem of the sea.
Students indirectly visit the Aquarium and learn about it.

japanese  virtual house from boston children museum
gives participants who've been there physically could revisit virtually from home.
And it gives others who could not visit can virtually visit the japanese house.
people can learn about culture all over the world.

Students learn about the ecosystem and causal pattern.
For four weeks, they could see the changes of the ecosystem, each of organism, the species under water, and tells how the pond changes from day to day. The data view helps to see the data they collected. They learn the science.

People can tour the places through 360 degree video. They are able to use trackpad to see the environment right and left, up and down.
People can virtually make a trip to the places all over the world.
