Video Games : More than a game

IBM articles can be summarized in this one sentence; "If you want to see what the business leadership may look like in three or five years, look at what's happening in online gaming". The articles are talking that video game gives the lessons for future organization and business to success. At first when I hear about this, it did seem ironic. I don't play games at all so I have no idea how the policy and the business goes in video games but it was very interesting to read.

This is a screenshot of " The LegoMovie Videogames'. In the article, it talks about the leadership roles. The leadership roles are becoming more ephemeral. Leadership is not an identity to identify specific person, but to finish the specific task successfully. Especially in fast phase environment, leadership is a temporary phenomenon, task oriented, dynamic and constantly changing role.

This is another screenshot of "Call of Duty' game. The business an replicate the project oriented structure and transparent skill and incentive but it is difficult to tolerate risks in real world. Making risks bring severe penalties but does not matter critically in virtual game world. However, it is very hard to take risks in real world because it is your job. To lead well, you should be able to take risks and make good decisions quickly.

This is another screenshot of 'Call of duty'. To better understand human nature, psychologists and socialogists are taking research on understanding the nature of virtual world. Making organization into smaller parts and giving members a leader role to better understand and work effectively are important. Also, smaller projects allow them to make risks, be more innovative and efficient.

There is a screenshot about 'Official immersive learning education technology'.  This Immersive Minecraft Education teaches all ages the methods to solve problems scientifically and also to express creatively in 3D virtual world. This can be thought of as highly sophisticated version of legos. What you imagine becomes reality.
These articles were very interesting and thoughtful. We can learn and anticipate the leading roles in future through virtual videogames.
